Fossil Fuels and Energy

Fossil fuels are natural resources formed from the remains of ancient plants and animals over millions of years. They are composed predominantly of carbon and hydrogen atoms and are the primary source of energy for modern industrial societies. The three main types of fossil fuels are coal, oil (petroleum), and natural gas.
